The NRS team supports environmental research and instruction across California, providing scientists and students with managed protected natural sites, together with field facilities, expert staff assistance, and long-term environmental databases.
John Wingfield, professor of Neurology, Physiology and Behavior, was appointed director of the UC Davis Natural Reserve System in 2011.
The UC Davis Natural Reserve System (NRS) is administered through the John Muir Institute of the Environment at UC Davis. Bodega Marine and McLaughlin Reserves have onsite management and stewards. Staff members working from the UC Davis campus serve Jepson Prairie, Quail Ridge, and Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserves. The staff fulfill the administrative, communication and technological needs of the reserve system and provide assistance to faculty, researchers, and students.
The NRS Advisory Committee advises the UC Davis NRS Director on issues concerning the management, operation, and improvements of reserve facilities, services, and programs.
This is a list of contacts for NRS Systemwide personnel, other reserve directors, and other campus faculty and staff.
